PHHS Updates - A letter from Dr. Garcia

Dear Paradise Families,

This Fall provided us with so many opportunities to celebrate students, their talent, and accomplishments. They included sending swim & dive to State, Cross Country girls won their section for the second year in a row, filling our newly built auditorium with live performances by theater & choir, band’s first competition at the AzMBA state championship, STUCO winning Best Dressed at their Spirit Conference, Girls Volleyball competing at State Play-ins, the largest football roster in school history, completing the renovation of our weightroom, and an academic awards ceremony for previous school years. There are stories woven with tradition from Key Club, Homecoming, Fall Festival, NHS, AP courses, and everything in between that tell the story of being a Panther.

The best part of this year has been having our students learning alongside their peers on our campus. The transition could not have happened without the help of families, the consistency of our counseling team, and the dedication of our teachers. In this season and on behalf of all of us at Paradise Honors High School, thank you.

Early Release 11/24

Next week, PHHS will release at 11:30 AM for a long Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend. The bell schedule for the day can be found here

Looking Forward

  • Semester 1 finals are scheduled for December 15th and 16th. Make-up finals will be held on December 17th for students who missed finals on their scheduled day. The bell schedule for those days can be found here.
  • When we return in January, our Wednesday early release time will shift from 2:15 PM  to 1:10 PM. This additional time for teacher professional development is one step in finding our teachers more support with collaboration with their colleagues. We will provide a supervised space for students to accommodate this shift for families. While this schedule change removes 11 minutes from each class on Wednesday, we are confident that students will continue to access the entirety of their curriculum.
  • On January 12th, PHHS will host the Future Panther Preview. We will offer two sessions, one from 5:30PM - 6:30PM and one from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM.  On this night, you will hear from our leadership team, meet our teachers, tour campus, and explore clubs & athletics. More information will follow.
  • Enrollment for the 22’-23’ school year is posted on our website. Re-enrollment begins December 13th, 2021.

Happy Thanksgiving!
