Dear Paradise Families,
Homecoming Celebration Recap
Thank you for a great Homecoming week! Not only did football take home the win, but STUCO also held a successful dance. Events like this would not be possible without the support of families, the commitment of staff members, and the dedication of all of our students. Thank you!
TikTok Challenges
September presented its own set of challenges because of the influence of social media. By now, you may have seen the year-long TikTok challenges for students. October’s challenge is to record oneself “slapping or smacking a staff member.” We want to ensure that families have this information. Consequences of participating in this activity, including but not limited to performing the act, filming, and conspiring, will result in the highest degree of disciplinary action. Please reinforce the importance of positive citizenship with your child. The consequences of participating in these types of activities cannot be replaced by any number of views or likes.
Attendance
Each month, we send out letters regarding student attendance in compliance with Arizona Revised Statutes. This letter notifies families of students who are approaching or have reached ten absences in any class period. This communication is required to be sent regardless if the absences are excused or unexcused. We understand the impact the pandemic has on attendance and teachers continue to work alongside students. Loss of credit may occur as a result of a student not demonstrating mastery in the content areas. All students continue to receive support in their classes through Prowler Hour and teacher office hours. At any time, log into PowerSchool to access student grades. The tutoring schedule and contact information for teachers can be found here.
Fall Break
Fall Break is from October 11th- October 19th. Students will return to class on Wednesday, October 20th. Enjoy the cooler Arizona weather and much-deserved rest.
All the best,
Gina Garcia, EdD
